The City

Berlin is a vibrant city rich with history and over 3 million inhabitants. The best way to see the city is to travel by bike, and many bike tours are also available.  Among places that should not be missed are:

Alexander Platz – features the wonderful and iconic TV tower, with a rotating restaurant on top.  Lines are long, make sure you leave enough time to get through.

Tiergarten – an enormous, beautiful park, and also neighbors/features many must-sees, such as the Reichstag , the Brandenburger Tor, the Memorial for the Murdered Jews of Europe, and Potsdamer Platz.

Pergamon Museum—part of the museum island, has wonderful antiquities.

Hamburger Bahnhof – an excellent museum for modern art.

Berlin Wall Memorial – If you’re interested in the wall, this is an excellent museum.

Jüdisches Museum Berlin – an excellent museum documenting Jewish history and life in Berlin.

Soviet War Memorial – not necessarily the most common tourist destination, but absolutely worth seeing and a crucial part of DDR history.
